One thing you will see in Hawaii, esp in Big Island is fruit trees that remind you of India. When driving, if you take alternate routes, that slightly slower than the main highways but go closer to the coast, you will pass through scenic neighborhoods where the (winding) roads are heavily lined with trees and many fruit stands. Multiple large homes having a stand with a sign to take fruits nicely arranged in an elevated display in a small stall. Seems like it is a common practice for many homeowners to give away excess fruit, in such stalls. You get relaxed, scenic drives and the fruits are a bonus.

We picked some mangoes just to see how they tasted. The ripe aroma was clear. They were smaller in size - kind of like the sour mangoes for pickles but tasted mostly like Banginapally.
